Along with other influential business women Becci Bookner was selected  and honored as one of Murfreesboro Magazine‘s, Woman in Business receipients. With the Rutherford County achievers and community supporters and friends, a luncheon was held at the Stones River Country Club in Murfreesboro on March 1, 2012, to recognize these important business people. This annual event presented by the magazine was open to the public and well-attended.

2012 Nashville Business Journal’s Women of Influence,

Recently Becci Bookner and Robyn Arab, Nashville Office Director of Family Staffing Solutions, Inc. attended the Nashville Business Journal’s Woman of Influence event, held at Loews Vanderbilt Hotel in Nashville. Becci was asked to judge this year’s nominees. Becci said it was not an easy task because there are many worthy women executives to choose from in the greater Nashville Metropolitin area.

Becci Bookner was chosen the 2011 Nashville Business Journal’s Woman of Influence in the Entrepreneur category. It was a wonderful event in Nashville enjoyed by all who attended.

“Although he’s a big hero for many a child, he’s also the “ultimate icon” of Christmas for all ages — especially for the “aging olders” — if you really think about it, said local author and entrepreneur Becci Bookner. ”He’s a bit too heavy, he has a round waist, white hair, but he’s such a symbol of joy,” said Bookner, a former educator who recently published “Something about Christmas.”

The book, which is small enough to fit neatly in a purse, imparts wit and wisdom Santa can teach us. “He sees the worst and he sees the best, yet he maintains that a plate of cookies and a glass of milk can solve a lot of problems,” Bookner joked. “Of all the holidays, Christmas is probably the happiest. But for a lot of people, it’s the time of year they get depressed,” said Bookner, who owns Family Staffing Solutions Inc., a company that provides care and assistance for the aging. Loss of loved ones, distance from family, isolation, in this book, Becciencourages readers to remember that enthusiasm Santa embodies and translate it to the “Christmas within us.” “If you don’t have family here, there are still things you can do to have joy … and find other ways to celebrate the season,” Bookner said. Don’t get caught up in the “entrapments” of gifting.

Another section of the book is a collection of sayings she’s received over the years. Nashville Business Journal has invited Becci Bookner to judge 2012 Women of Influence. She was the recipient of the 2011 award in the ‘Entrepreneur” category. Local Office Director’s Meeting 2011

Family Staffing Solutions, Inc. recently hosted a Local Office Director’s Meeting at the Embassy Suites in Murfreesboro. Led by CEO, Becci Bookner the attendees enjoyed a presentation given by Barb Sutton, MA, CPA and Partner at Dempsey, Vantrease & Follis, PLLC, Murfreesboro.

In addition to the presentation by Ms. Sutton, information exchange and an outline of business plans for 2012 were the order of the day. Also attending was Dana Cassidy, Vice President.

Family Staffing Solutions, Inc. and the Alzheimer’s Early Detection Alliance

Caregiving for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia is one of the greatest challenges facing our maturing families, but it doesn’t have to be a lonely one.  Family Staffing Solutions has joined the “Alzheimer’s Early Detection Alliance (AEDA)”  and our Nashville Caregivers are headed towards Dementia certification. When used as instructed, electronic devices can improve brain activity and are proven to ease the negative feelings of isolation which can occur in our older generation. As we know, enjoyment matters in learning.

Imagine texting your physician with a question about a new medication or video conferencing when you become ill while traveling. How about just scheduling a time for your doctor to come by your house for a checkup. A local physician  offers two membership levels of service monthly or annual.

For most people especially over the age of 60, it’s best to stay inside during excessive heat. Medical conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, respiratory conditions or weight issues hamper the body’s ability to regulate its core temperatures in extreme cold or heat.

When people go outside into summer weather heat over 90 degrees, the body can sense this assault to itself and will begin to fight to keep the body temperature cool. ” It has be proven over and over that heat waves do more than make us cross and sluggish. Searing temperatures kill more people in the U.S. than hurricanes, lightning, tornadoes, floods and earthquakes combined.So go and make some icy cold lemonade and relax. The summer is almost over.

Murfreesboro, TN–Well-known Murfreesboro physician, Dr. Jim Garner, has expanded his practice to include house calls for clients of Family Staffing Solutions, Inc.  on an exclusive basis announced Becci Bookner, president and CEO of Family Staffing Solutions, Inc. of Murfreesboro. Lorrie Riley Director of Family Staffing Murfreesboro

There is good news about.

Ms. Lorrie Riley has been hired as the Director of the new Murfreesboro office. Lorrie comes to FSS after more than 20 years in the public services industry.

Her own grandmother and her great aunt, ages 92 and 95 respectively were very influential in her life.  In fact, Lorre has always enjoyed the companionship of those quite a few generations older than herself.  She said, “The wisdom and richness of life of those older than me has always been a pleasure to witness.

Lorrie has said that her goal is to improve the quality and environment of those she works with.  She certainly believes that companionship does not mean babysitting or merely addressing the needs of the living but an opportunity for building a relationship that will improve the life of the giver and receiver. Those who know Lorrie best refer to her as “caring, spiritual, and a great listener. When she is not working, she is engaged in decorating, artistic projects and crafts where her talents produce beautiful pieces she can bestow on others.
